At that time, I was still in college. I was deeply interested in literature when I was young. The college's literature library only allowed each student to borrow one book at one time, and I wanted to borrow more. At an occasional chance I was told that if I served as a volunteer in the library I would be able to borrow up to 5 books at one time. This was an exciting news to me, so I applied for the volunteer position at the library. There were no much competitions and my application was accepted. My job was simple and easy: re-arrange books to shelves where they belong to.

That's the start point of my volunteering story. Being a volunteer I was given some chances to touch some people who are in desperate need of help, and listen to their stories. The organizations I served include local organizations such as Greater DC Cares, and world-wide charities such as Tzu Chi Foundation. At some times I organized volunteering activities of up to 35 volunteers. At other times I just served as a regular volunteer. I like the latter role more because it gives more time opportunities to serve people, but I also respect those who stands out to organize and lead in volunteering activities.

The reason I built this blog is to allow all volunteers to share what are happening to them with others. I am currently a part-time volunteer to several non-profit organizations, and I enjoy working for those who are in need.

If you have something news to share, join us!
